Professor Colette H. Winn
Colette
H. Winn is a professor of French in the Romance Language and Literature Department at
Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. She was born and raised in a small town in
southern France near Nimes. She received her PhD from the University of Missouri, Columbia
in 1980 and has taught at Washington University since that time. Though active in teaching
and research, she has taken groups of University students to France every year since 1988.
Founder (1992-present) and Director of the France for the Pre-Med program in Nice
Director of the Washington University Summer Language Institute (1988-96)
Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences for Overseas Programs (1992-96)
Specialist in Sixteenth-Century French Literature.
Publications include books, collections of essays, and critical editions on Early
Modern women writers and on Early Modern Medicine.
