Graduate Program FAQ:


Q: What are the requirements for the application?
A: * Application form (submitted online only unless fee waiver requested)
A: * GRE Official score report including: - Verbal, Quantitative, Analytical
A: * At least three letters of recommendation
A: * Official undergraduate transcripts

Other non-required items that might be included in the application:
* CV
* GRE Psychology subject test score
* Additional letters of recommendation in excess of three
* Writing Sample

Q: How many copies of transcripts are required?
A: One copy is required, two copies would be appreciated

Q: What are the GRE & TOEFL codes?
A: Institution code – 6929
Department code – 2016
(We have several department codes – this is a generic code for psychology.)

Q: What is your mailing address?

Q: What supplemental materials need to be mailed to the department?
A: a) Any recommendation letters not submitted online
A: b) All official transcripts
A: c) Any writing samples (not required for application)
A: d) CV if not submitted online with application

Q: What supplemental materials should be sent to Graduate School office?
A: Only the GRE score report should go to the Graduate School (per the institution code), which will then forward to the appropriate departments based on the codes provided.

Q: If grades from a Study Abroad program are included in the domestic institution’s transcript, is the transcript from the foreign institution still required?
A: No

Q: If I applied last year and was declined an offer, may I re-apply this year?
A: Yes. Email Meg, the Graduate Coordinator (mcclelland@wustl.edu) that this is your intention and then you must submit a new application form online along with the fee payment. All supplemental materials from the previous file will be brought forward to the current file. You may also update your new file with additional letters and/or transcripts.
